Anthony Boyle Stars in Urgent Netflix Series ‘House of Guinness’

UPDATE: Anthony Boyle is set to captivate audiences in the highly anticipated Netflix series House of Guinness, premiering next week. This new show, created by Peaky Blinders mastermind Steven Knight, dives into the tumultuous legacy of one of Europe’s most famous brewing families in 1868, following the death of Benjamin Guinness.
The series focuses on the intense dynamics among his four adult children: Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben. With a backdrop of deceit and intrigue, Boyle plays the role of Arthur, who grapples with the inheritance of the brewery amidst personal turmoil. As an associate ominously warns, “The death of your father has served to poke a stick in a hornet’s nest.”
Boyle, speaking from Vancouver, where he is currently filming another project, expressed his excitement about joining this dramatic narrative. “I really liked it when I was first sent the episodes — they had really long scenes,” he said, emphasizing the depth of storytelling that sets this series apart from the typical rapid-fire pacing of modern television.
The actor, who experienced health challenges in his youth, connecting him to the world of storytelling, describes Arthur Guinness as a richly layered character. “He’s so full of life and complicated,” Boyle shared. “There was just so much in him. I thought if I could meet it where it was and bring my own stuff to it, we could make something really special together.”
As he prepares for his role, Boyle is uncovering the historical significance of the Guinness family, noting their extensive influence in both Ireland and England. The storyline reveals Arthur’s internal struggle: torn between the allure of freedom in London and the looming responsibilities back in Dublin. “It’s complex and it’s layered,” he remarked, hinting at the emotional depth that viewers can expect.
In addition to his role in House of Guinness, Boyle’s career trajectory has been impressive. He gained acclaim for his performance in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and has since featured in high-profile projects like Masters of the Air and Say Nothing. His upcoming role in The Altruists, co-starring Julia Garner, promises to further showcase his talents in a narrative exploring the fall of cryptocurrency giant FTX.
The emergence of Irish talent on the global stage continues to inspire Boyle. “There’s particularly such a great young cast,” he said, highlighting the rising stars in the Irish acting community. “It seems like Irish music and Irish literature — Ireland’s having a really great moment internationally, culturally.”
As House of Guinness prepares to launch on Netflix, Boyle’s portrayal of Arthur Guinness is poised to resonate deeply with audiences, offering a richly woven tale of family, legacy, and personal conflict. This is a development that fans of historical dramas and character-driven narratives won’t want to miss.
Stay tuned for the series premiere and witness the unfolding drama surrounding one of history’s most iconic families.
