Boutique Guesthouse in Belfast Unveils €8M Revamp, Creates 40 Jobs
UPDATE: A major transformation is underway in South Belfast as the boutique townhouse Regency House just announced the completion of a stunning €8.1 million (£7 million) restoration project, creating 40 new jobs and enhancing the local hospitality landscape. This development is part of a broader initiative aimed at revitalizing historic buildings off Botanic Avenue.
The extensive renovation, which took four years, adds an impressive 7,275 sq ft across four floors, incorporating two additional landmark Grade II listed Georgian terrace buildings located at 14 and 15 Upper Crescent. The expansion introduces eight new bedrooms to the existing accommodations, which include six one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites at 11 and 12 Upper Crescent.
In an exciting twist, the ground floor now features a new restaurant, while the first floor boasts a bar and lounge named The Drawing Room. This venue will offer all-day dining for guests, enhancing the overall experience for overnight residents.
Moreover, wellness enthusiasts will be thrilled with a newly designed fitness and wellness suite, featuring top-of-the-line BLK BOX and Peloton equipment, alongside a luxurious hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge pool.
Nicholas Forsythe, General Manager of Regency House, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to be unveiling the third phase of this milestone project. From the very start, we had an ambitious vision to not only restore these historic properties but also to rejuvenate this area of the city, which, despite its rich history, had fallen into disrepair.”
Katie Jackson, Director of Finance and Operations at Regency House, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the team’s dedication and hard work. “Through the endless support and tireless work of the entire project team, we are so proud to have achieved what we set out to do back in 2020, and as a result, create a truly unique five-star experience in the heart of Belfast.”
This revitalization not only brings a fresh energy to the area but also creates significant employment opportunities, showcasing a commitment to local economic growth.
As Regency House embarks on this exciting new chapter, the community eagerly anticipates the impact of this project. Look out for more updates as this boutique guesthouse sets a new standard for luxury accommodations in Belfast.
