Center Parcs Warns Against Selling Day Passes Amid Increased Demand
Center Parcs Longford has issued a clear warning to holidaymakers regarding the resale of day passes intended for their popular holiday village. With rising interest in the resort, guests who secure day passes for friends and family have recently attempted to sell these tickets online, prompting an official response from the company.
Initially, Center Parcs offered day passes to all visitors when they opened their parks in the UK and Ireland. However, due to overwhelming demand and overcrowding, the sale of these passes was curtailed. Currently, guests who book extended stays can still obtain day passes for close family and friends, but the passes are not intended for public resale.
According to the Center Parcs Ireland website, “Day visitor passes are only available for close family and friends and not available to sell to the general public.” The company has made it clear that guests found selling these passes will face expulsion from the resort without a refund.
The process for obtaining a day pass requires the guest to book in advance and provide personal details, including the car registration of those accompanying them. Center Parcs has emphasized the importance of adhering to this policy to maintain the integrity of their guest experience.
Expansion Plans and Growing Popularity
Since opening its first Irish park in 2019 with a significant investment of €233 million, Center Parcs Longford has seen a steady increase in visitors. Colin McKinlay, CEO of Center Parcs UK and Ireland, noted the growing affection families have for the resort, stating, “Year on year, we have seen an increase in the number of guests we have welcomed to Longford Forest and many returning families.”
In response to this rising popularity, Center Parcs announced a substantial expansion plan in 2022, committing an additional €100 million to enhance the facilities at Longford. This expansion will include the addition of 198 new apartments and four luxury treehouses, further catering to the needs of guests.
Upgrades are also set to improve existing amenities. The Aqua Sana spa will be expanded to feature new treatment rooms and a treetop sauna, while a new lakeside restaurant and coffee shop are also in the pipeline. An extension of the subtropical swimming pool is part of the overall plan to elevate the guest experience.
As the resort continues to develop, Center Parcs remains committed to maintaining a high standard of service. The company encourages guests to follow their policies to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone visiting their parks.
