Chaos Erupts as Oasis Fans Miss Opening Songs at Croke Park

UPDATE: A chaotic scene unfolded at Croke Park on July 15, 2023, as thousands of eager Oasis fans faced significant delays entering the venue, causing many to miss the opening songs of their highly anticipated concert. The sold-out show marked the Gallagher brothers’ first performance in Dublin since 2009, but logistical failures marred the experience for many attendees.
Long queues and disorganized entry systems plagued the event, with some fans reporting waits of over an hour just to secure wristbands for pitch standing. Comedian and fan Louise O’Toole took to TikTok to voice her frustrations, stating, “Absolute disaster trying to get into Oasis on N1 in Croke Park.” Video footage shows hundreds of fans struggling to navigate the chaos as they attempted to enter the stadium.
Social media was flooded with complaints about the lack of a proper queue system, leading to confusion and frustration among concertgoers. Many fans criticized the venue’s outdated operations, with one remarking, “Croke Park needs to rework how it runs events.” Reports indicate that some standing section ticketholders were initially let in without wristbands, causing further delays as they were stopped from entering restricted areas.
The issues extended beyond entry, with fans expressing discontent over bathroom accessibility. One attendee noted the “ridiculous” queues for women’s bathrooms, resulting in many missing the opening acts. “Came early… took two hours to get back out to the bathroom. Missed the opening two Oasis songs,” one frustrated fan shared.
Bar services also fell short, with patrons waiting upwards of an hour to grab drinks before the main act. Many were disappointed to miss the arrival of the Gallagher brothers on stage due to long bar lines. Reports revealed that no drinks were pre-poured until Oasis began their performance, leaving fans thirsty and anxious.
Despite these setbacks, the concert itself delivered a thrilling experience for many. Attendees praised the band’s performance and setlist, with social media buzzing with enthusiasm. One fan declared, “Oasis are the greatest band of all time,” praising the night’s atmosphere and recalling how their ten-year-old son was captivated by the show.
The night was not without its final hiccups, as technical issues prevented planned pyrotechnics from going off at the end of the gig. Still, the overwhelming sentiment among concertgoers remained positive, with many expressing a desire to relive the experience.
As the second night approaches, fans are hopeful for a smoother experience. Concertgoers are urged to arrive early and remain vigilant for updates on entry procedures to ensure they do not miss another moment of the legendary band’s performance.
