The Connemara Ambulance Crisis Group has expressed strong frustration regarding new delays in the construction of an ambulance base in Recess, a project that has been in the works for over two decades. The Health Service Executive (HSE) initially announced plans for the facility in 2021, but progress has been hindered by various setbacks.

PJ Leavy, a representative of the Connemara Ambulance Crisis Group, voiced the group’s discontent during an interview on Galway Talks. He stated their disappointment over the likelihood that the base will not be ready for use until 2027, expressing that the community’s patience is wearing thin.
