Daniel O’Donnell Releases New Album Before Taking Break

BREAKING: Daniel O’Donnell, the beloved Irish singer, has just announced the release of his new album, Now and Then, set to drop on October 3, 2023. This highly anticipated album marks his return to the music that shaped his career and will be his last recording before he takes a significant break for health reasons.
In a heartfelt interview, O’Donnell revealed that he will not be performing live in 2024, with only select shows planned, as he prioritizes his health after 45 years in the industry. The album features a mix of original songs and timeless country classics, showcasing 14 tracks that encapsulate the essence of his musical journey.
Among the standout tracks is his rendition of the iconic John Denver classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” which has been a highlight of his live performances. O’Donnell also revisits other cherished country gems, including Don Williams‘ “You’re My Best Friend” and Stevie Wonder‘s “I Just Called To Say I Love You.”
As O’Donnell prepares to embark on a UK tour from October 9-15, 2023, fans are eager to experience what may be their last chance to see him perform live before his break. He will be visiting cities including Bridlington, Stockport, Croydon, Llandudno, Newcastle, and Edinburgh during this special tour.
O’Donnell emphasizes that his commitment to supporting Irish songwriting continues with new contributions from local artists featured on the album, including poignant tracks like “Running Out Of Reasons” and “Never Let The Sun Go Down On Your Anger.”
Reflecting on his upcoming break, he stated, “I just felt this year that the touring was a bit more tiring than before… I want to find out why I’m getting the allergies.” He assures fans that this is not a retirement, and he looks forward to future projects and shows.
As he prepares for the UK tour, O’Donnell expressed excitement about sharing this album with his fans. He remarked, “I hope they will enjoy it… This album takes me back to the early days as well as where I am now.”
Fans are encouraged to catch him on tour, as these performances promise to be a heartfelt farewell before his hiatus. With the album Now and Then and his tour, O’Donnell’s legacy continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
