The bus, carrying over 50 passengers returning to New York City from Niagara Falls, lost control and rolled over, with reports of serious injuries and fatalities.

Authorities confirm that the bus was traveling eastbound when it veered into the median, overcorrected, and crashed into a ditch. “At this time we have multiple fatalities, multiple entrapments and multiple injuries,” stated Trooper James O’Callahan of the New York State Police. The New York State Thruway Authority has closed a significant stretch of the roadway in both directions, urging drivers to avoid the area as debris covers the road. Witness Powell Stephens recounted the chaos: “There was glass all over the road and people’s stuff all over the road. Windows were all shattered.”
