Dublin Airport Closes T1 Lounge for Major Renovation Until 2026

URGENT UPDATE: Passengers traveling through Dublin Airport are facing significant changes as the T1 Lounge will close indefinitely starting August 31, 2025, due to a massive renovation. This closure, which will last until early 2026, is part of a plan to double the lounge’s size, leaving many frequent flyers devastated.
In an official announcement, Dublin Airport confirmed that the T1 Lounge will cease operations at 3 PM this Sunday to facilitate extensive upgrade works. The renovation aims to enhance passenger experience, but the prolonged closure means travelers will need to seek alternatives for relaxation before their flights.
To mitigate the impact, the airport has extended operating hours for both the Liffey Lounge and Martello Lounge, which will now be open daily from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Additionally, a temporary lounge space will be available starting September 1 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, conveniently located beside Gate 202.
This temporary solution is accessible to business class passengers flying with airlines including Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, Finnair, Hainan Airlines, Lufthansa (including Swiss Air and Lufthansa City), Turkish Airlines, WestJet, and Wideroe.
As renovations commence, passengers are left grappling with the unexpected closure of a beloved airport feature. Many express their frustrations, highlighting the importance of comfortable spaces during travel.
Officials emphasize that the renovation is vital for improving overall amenities, but the immediate unavailability of the T1 Lounge is sure to be felt by countless travelers.
Travelers should stay tuned for updates as the renovation progresses and be prepared to utilize the available lounges during this transition period.
