Enoch Burke Defies Court Orders Again, Gardaí Seek His Arrest
BREAKING: Teacher Enoch Burke has once again appeared outside his former workplace, Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath, as Gardaí intensify efforts to arrest him for contempt of court. In a defiant video message filmed outside the school, Burke criticized a judge’s ruling that has led to his imprisonment and called for Church of Ireland and Catholic leaders to oppose transgender ‘ideology’.
Burke’s latest appearance, which was captured on video, raises significant pressure on law enforcement, who have been actively pursuing him since his initial evasion on Tuesday. The judge’s order for Burke’s arrest came after he breached a court ruling by refusing to adhere to a school policy regarding pronouns for a transgender student.
In the video, Burke expressed his determination to continue his protest, stating he would be “taken away in a prison van” for a fourth time. His previous legal troubles include being jailed on three separate occasions for similar offenses, stemming from his aggressive response to school officials regarding the treatment of a transgender student.
“High Court Judge Brian Cregan has directed Gardaí to arrest and imprison teacher Enoch Burke in blatant disregard of his Constitutional and God-given rights,” Burke declared.
Burke was suspended from his teaching position following a series of incidents and has since defied multiple High Court orders to stay away from the school grounds. His ongoing demonstrations have sparked fierce debate, particularly regarding his criticism of Catholic leaders for their perceived silence on LGBTQ+ issues and the display of pride flags in schools.
Just yesterday, Burke’s family recorded an encounter with four Gardaí at their home in Co. Mayo, as law enforcement sought to execute the judge’s order. The video was shared on Burke’s social media account, garnering attention and further complicating the legal proceedings against him.
Gardaí visited Burke’s residence twice on Wednesday, but he managed to evade capture. The authorities are under increasing pressure to apprehend him, especially after Judge Cregan’s directive on November 21, 2025, which mandated the Attorney General to initiate criminal contempt proceedings against Burke and several family members for their roles in the ongoing situation.
As tensions rise, the implications of Burke’s actions extend beyond his personal legal troubles. His case has ignited discussions around free speech, religious beliefs, and the rights of transgender individuals in educational settings. Observers are now closely monitoring developments, as this situation continues to unfold.
The next steps in this developing story will be crucial, as officials and the public alike await Burke’s potential arrest and the ensuing legal ramifications. Stay tuned for updates as this situation evolves.
