Fatal Crash in Co Wicklow Claims Life of Man in 60s, Two Injured

URGENT UPDATE: A tragic collision in Co Wicklow has resulted in the death of a man in his60s and left two others injured. The crash occurred on the R725 at Rath East around 6:50 PM yesterday, October 24, 2023.

The deceased, who was driving one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been transported to the Naas Mortuary for a post-mortem examination. A female passenger in his car was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Carlow Kilkenny, where she is currently receiving treatment for injuries that authorities report are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash sustained serious injuries and is undergoing medical care.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen the collision or has dash-cam footage from the R725 between 6:00 PM and 6:50 PM on the day of the incident.
