BREAKING: The father of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro has confessed to killing his son and disposing of the body in a trash can. This shocking admission comes as authorities reveal that Emmanuel suffered prolonged abuse at the hands of his parents, Jake and Rebecca Haro, in their Riverside County home.

According to District Attorney Michael Hestrin, investigators utilized an undercover inmate to elicit the confession from Jake Haro, who had previously reported Emmanuel missing on August 14, 2025. Rebecca claimed she was attacked outside a sports store in San Bernardino and awoke to find her baby gone. However, law enforcement quickly grew suspicious of their story, prompting further investigation.

Hestrin stated, “We believe baby Emmanuel was subject to abuse over time, and because of that abuse, he succumbed to his injuries.” The couple’s public appeals for the baby’s return were met with skepticism as inconsistencies in their narratives emerged.

Days after the missing persons report, investigators arrested both Jake and Rebecca, charging them with murder. Authorities have indicated that they possess a strong indication of where the baby’s remains are located but have yet to recover the body. Both parents are reportedly cooperating with law enforcement.

Notably, Jake Haro has a troubling history, with a conviction for child abuse from 2023 involving severe violence against his daughter from a previous marriage. This incident left the child with permanent injuries, including fractured ribs and a brain hemorrhage. Hestrin emphasized that Jake should have served time for that crime but never spent a day in jail.

Authorities confirmed that the couple’s two other children, including a 2-year-old daughter, are now in protective custody. The Haros were expected to appear in court on Tuesday, but their hearing has been postponed until next week.

As this harrowing case unfolds, the community grapples with the tragedy of baby Emmanuel’s death, highlighting the urgent need for child protection and intervention measures. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement working tirelessly to recover the remains and provide justice for Emmanuel.
