Funeral Set for Young Boy, Joey Forker, After Tragic Accident
UPDATE: A funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, for Joey Forker, a nine-year-old boy from Dungloe, whose tragic passing has left the community in mourning. Joey died in a horrific machinery accident at his home in Meenmore on Friday evening, sending shockwaves of grief across Donegal.
Joey’s funeral mass will take place at St Crona’s Church in Dungloe, followed by his burial at Magheragallon Cemetery. The loss of this vibrant young boy, who was a beloved pupil at St Crona’s National School, has united friends and family in deep sorrow. Joey was the middle child of popular local couple, Joe and Audrey Forker, who are now faced with unimaginable heartache.
In the wake of this tragedy, hundreds of messages of support have flooded social media, celebrating Joey’s life and the joy he brought to those around him. Friends recall his passion for machinery and how he loved helping his father. Local Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher expressed solidarity with the Forker family, urging the community to offer prayers and support during this devastating time.
“This is a heartbreaking loss for the family and the entire community. Let us all stand together to support the Forkers in the days ahead,” Gallagher stated.
