Galway Hosts Urgent International Tourism Workshop This Week

UPDATE: Galway is set to welcome international partners for a critical tourism workshop this week, focusing on sustainable travel solutions. The Interreg Europe Slowdown project’s 4th Interregional Thematic Workshop and Study Visit kicks off tomorrow, bringing together representatives from eight EU countries to explore innovative strategies for slow tourism.
The event begins with an informal walking tour tomorrow, followed by an official welcome on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the BIA Innovator Campus in Athenry. Liam Hanrahan, Deputy Chief Executive of Galway County Council, will open the proceedings, emphasizing Galway’s commitment to enhancing sustainable local and regional development.
