Garda Launches Investigation After Assault in Galway Fast Food Restaurant

Authorities in Galway are investigating a violent assault that occurred in a fast food restaurant over the weekend. A man in his 50s was attacked by three males in the toilets of Supermac’s, located in Eyre Square, shortly before 22:00 on August 2, 2025.
Emergency services responded promptly to the incident, providing medical assistance to the victim, who sustained multiple injuries from the alleged assault. The Garda Síochána confirmed that they are actively pursuing leads in connection with the case. A spokesperson for the Garda stated, “Gardaí received a report of an alleged assault at a premises in Eyre Square, Galway, at approximately 21:50 on August 2. A man, aged in his 50s, was assaulted by three males in the toilets of the premises. The man was given medical assistance. Investigation ongoing.”
Witness Appeal and Ongoing Investigation
Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
