Gardai Launch Search for Missing Boy, 7, Presumed Dead

An extensive search operation has begun in open ground near Donabate, Co Dublin, as Gardai investigate the case of a boy who is missing and presumed dead. The child, who would be seven years old this year, has not been seen for several years. Concerns regarding his welfare were formally raised with Gardai by Tusla on August 29, 2025.
The boy is believed to have last lived at The Gallery Apartments in Donabate. A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána stated, “It has been a number of years since there has been any confirmed sighting of the boy, who would now be 7 years of age.” They further indicated that despite ongoing inquiries, there is no evidence to suggest that the boy is alive.
On September 1, 2025, Gardai took control of a designated area of open ground in Donabate for search efforts, which are set to continue in the coming days. The investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer based at an incident room established at Swords Garda Station.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this case, and the investigation remains underway. Gardai are urging anyone with information about the missing boy to step forward.
