Heartbreaking Crash Claims Life of Proud Father, Sean Connolly
URGENT UPDATE: A tragic accident has claimed the life of 45-year-old Sean Connolly in Co Kerry, sending shockwaves through his community. The devastating crash occurred on the N69 road between Tarbert and Listowel at approximately 10:00 AM on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Sean, a devoted father of two, was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a truck. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene, leaving behind a heartbroken family and community. Tributes have poured in, highlighting Sean’s pride in his children, Caoimhe and Brendan, and his love for motorbikes.
A heartfelt message from the family states, “Deeply regretted by his loving children and their mother, Kate Fitzgerald, along with his heartbroken parents, Deirdre and Brendan, and brothers David and Peter.” Community members remember him as a kind gentleman and a skilled mechanic.
One local resident expressed their sorrow, stating, “We are heartbroken on Sean’s passing. Our thoughts are with Caoimhe and Brendan; he was so proud of you both.” Another remarked, “Sean had a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed.”
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, with authorities urging witnesses to come forward. A Garda spokesperson confirmed, “Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Sean Connolly will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and the entire community. His remains will repose at O’Grady’s Funeral Home in Ballingarry, Co Limerick on Tuesday evening from 4 PM to 7 PM, followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM at The Church Of The Immaculate Conception in Ballingarry. He will be laid to rest at St Mary’s Cemetery.
