John Lockes Clinches Under 21 County Title with Early Goals

UPDATE: In an electrifying showdown on July 15, 2023, at Pairc Lachtain, Freshford, John Lockes of Callan triumphed over St Patrick’s to secure the JJ Kavanagh County Under 21 D title. This decisive victory marks only their second win at this level, the first being a Under 21 B title back in 2010.

From the outset, John Lockes demonstrated their offensive prowess, netting three goals within the first twenty minutes. The opening score came just one minute in, as corner forward Zak O’Halloran found the back of the net, sending a clear message to their opponents.

St Patrick’s managed to respond with points from Sean Brennan and Mark Doheny, but it was a brief moment of momentum. John Lockes quickly regained control, led by Tomas Roche, who later converted a penalty and added crucial points throughout the match.

As the first half progressed, John Lockes unleashed a relentless offensive, finishing the half with a commanding score of 3-7 to 0-8. The second half saw both teams add seven points each, but St Patrick’s couldn’t close the gap. Notably, all of St Patrick’s second-half scores came from Josh Dowling, who delivered a commendable performance with twelve points overall.
