Kathryn Thomas Rescues Injured Kitten from Busy Tralee Road

URGENT UPDATE: In a heartwarming rescue, TV presenter Kathryn Thomas saved a tiny, injured kitten stranded on a busy roundabout in Tralee, County Kerry, yesterday, October 13, 2023. The kitten was trapped on the road as cars sped past, with Kathryn describing the scene as “cars literally driving over her.”
The frightened kitten appeared unable to move, with reports indicating that her back legs may be broken. Acting quickly, Kathryn stopped her car, scooped up the injured animal, and rushed her to the Abbey Veterinary Centre on Church Street in Tralee. Veterinarian Deirdre Cremins is now caring for the kitten, who has been aptly named “Rose” after the Rose of Tralee festival.
On her social media channels and a post on Killarneytoday.com, Kathryn shared the dramatic details of the rescue. Despite the chaos of the moment, she humorously noted that the distressed kitten relieved herself all over her festival notes during the ride to the vet, but saving the little creature was clearly her priority.
Kathryn is set to co-host the Rose of Tralee festival alongside Daithí Ó Sé on Monday and Tuesday nights, making this act of kindness especially poignant. There is hope that she will adopt the kitten, much to the delight of her daughters, Grace and Ellie, who would surely be thrilled to welcome a fluffy new friend named Rose into their home.
This heartwarming incident highlights the compassion of individuals like Kathryn Thomas, reminding us all of the impact one person can have on the life of a vulnerable animal. The community is rallying around the story, with many eager to hear updates on Rose’s recovery and Kathryn’s potential plans for adoption.
Stay tuned for further developments on this touching rescue and the fate of the little kitten.
