Kilkenny Bus Service Goes Cashless, Local Links Remain Unchanged

URGENT UPDATE: Starting today, October 24, 2023, JJ Kavanagh has officially transitioned to a fully cashless system on all its bus services, with Local Link routes remaining unaffected. This change aims to streamline payment processes, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.
A spokesperson for JJ Kavanagh stated, “Local Link services are not affected – you can still pay with cash as usual on all Local Link routes.” This decision is part of a broader effort to make travel faster, safer, and simpler for commuters across Kilkenny.
The shift to cashless operations is expected to significantly reduce boarding times, encouraging more people to use public transport amid rising concerns over safety and efficiency. Passengers are encouraged to adapt to the new payment methods to ensure a smooth journey.
JJ Kavanagh expresses gratitude for the community’s understanding during this transition. “Thank you for travelling with us and helping make every journey quicker, safer, and easier for everyone,” the spokesperson added.
As this development unfolds, commuters are urged to share their feedback and experiences on social media, fostering community engagement and support for the new system.
For those relying on Local Link services, rest assured that cash payments will continue to be accepted, ensuring that no disruption occurs for these essential routes.
Stay tuned for further updates as JJ Kavanagh implements this significant change in their service operations.
