Kilkenny Junior Anglers Compete in Exciting River Nore Event

UPDATE: The annual Kilkenny City and County Anglers competition took place this weekend on the scenic River Nore, bringing together young anglers for a day of thrilling fishing and valuable learning experiences. The event featured a prize-giving ceremony, delicious food, and engaging activities, highlighting the importance of biodiversity in local waterways.

Participants were treated to demonstrations from the Inland Fisheries Board, who educated attendees on sustainable fishing practices and the ecological significance of the river. In a related development, an exciting opportunity for women interested in flyfishing is set to take place at the Laois Angling Centre near Portlaoise on August 30. Organized by the Irish Ladies Flyfishing Association (ILFA), the event will kick off at 11:00 AM with a short indoor session followed by four hours of practical casting instruction outside.
