Kilkenny Photography Contest Opens for Rural Life Entries Now!
URGENT UPDATE: A highly anticipated photography competition celebrating rural life is officially open for entries from Kilkenny residents! The competition, co-produced by ICMSA and Hedgerows Ireland, invites participants to capture the stunning beauty of hedgerows, which play a vital role in maintaining biodiversity.
Organizers are particularly eager for young photographers to grab their smartphone cameras and snap images that showcase the breathtaking hedgerows at this vibrant time of year. This year’s contest follows last year’s overwhelming success, highlighting the public’s growing appreciation for the environmental significance of these rural treasures.
To enter, simply scan the QR code below and follow the submission instructions. “ICMSA is always looking for opportunities to demonstrate the commitment of our farmer-members to the environment and nature,” said Denis Drennan, President of ICMSA and a farmer from Kilkenny. He emphasized the substantial interest in the competition, noting, “The massive volume of entries last year showcased the public’s appetite for recognizing the critical role our rural hedges play.”
The competition features substantial cash prizes for two categories: ‘Senior’ and ‘Under 18s’. Winners will be announced during a prestigious ceremony at the ICMSA AGM in the Limerick Radisson on November 28, where they will receive their awards from An Taoiseach, Michael Martin.
Don’t miss your chance to participate in this exciting event that not only celebrates creativity but also emphasizes the importance of preserving our natural heritage. Submit your entries now and be a part of this impactful initiative!
