Lauren McCrory Unveils New Single ‘Good Ol’ Girls’ Amid Comeback

UPDATE: Country singer Lauren McCrory has just released her highly anticipated new single, Good Ol’ Girls, marking a significant moment in her music career. The 28-year-old from Galbally is poised to capture the hearts of fans once again as she embraces her return to the spotlight after taking a break to regroup.
With the release of Good Ol’ Girls, following her earlier hits like Next To You Next To Me and A Whole Lotta Little, McCrory aims to solidify her place in the evolving country music scene. Earlier this year, she won the Best Female Newcomer Award at the Northern Ireland Country Music Awards, a testament to her enduring talent and dedication.
McCrory, who first gained national attention by winning TG4’s singing competition Glór Tíre in 2017, revealed that she felt overwhelmed by early success. “I knew I needed to mature as a person to handle the demands of the industry,” she explained. Taking a step back allowed her to refine her artistry, leading to this exciting comeback.
The track Good Ol’ Girls showcases her unique blend of American and Irish country influences. McCrory described the song as a fun, vibrant anthem that resonates with her journey in the music industry. “I kept gravitating back to it, so I knew I had to pursue it,” she said.
In a bold move, McCrory took charge of the music video, leveraging her theatrical training to create a detailed storyboard. She reached out to her 30,000 TikTok followers for an open casting call, successfully bringing together a diverse group of young women to participate in the video. “It was a blast, and I wanted to incorporate as many girls as possible,” she shared.
McCrory’s passion for engaging younger audiences reflects her observations of a resurgence in interest in country music among teens. “The future of country music is very bright,” she emphasized, noting the increasing number of young people attending dances and gigs.
Reflecting on her earlier career, McCrory candidly discussed how her lack of early competition wins affected her confidence. “I didn’t actually win anything growing up, but it gave me the experience I needed,” she stated. Her style incorporates both Irish and American country elements, creating a sound that resonates with audiences across the UK and Ireland.
As she embraces this new chapter, McCrory is already planning her next steps. She aims to release an original piece soon, continuing to build on her momentum. “We’re working towards an album with each release,” she revealed, highlighting her commitment to consistency in her music career.
The release of Good Ol’ Girls is not just a significant step for McCrory; it serves as an inspiration for aspiring artists navigating the complexities of the music industry. With her determination and fresh perspective, McCrory is ready to reclaim her place in country music.
For fans eager to support McCrory, Good Ol’ Girls is available now on all major streaming platforms. Keep an eye on this rising star as she continues to shine in the country music scene.
