Man Arrested Following Fatal Collision on N25 in Co Wexford
A man has been arrested after a fatal road collision in Co Wexford that resulted in the death of a man in his sixties. The incident occurred on the N25 near Drinagh at approximately 1:10 a.m. on March 10, 2025. According to Gardaí, a passenger van and a jeep were involved in the accident. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body has been taken to the morgue at Wexford General Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Emergency services also transported a passenger from one of the vehicles to Wexford General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. In the aftermath, a man in his forties was arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences under the Road Traffic Act. He is currently being detained at a Garda station in Wexford under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Investigation and Public Appeal
Following the collision, the N25 was closed to preserve the scene for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators. Local diversions have been established to accommodate traffic. Gardaí have reached out to the public for assistance, urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in any road users who may have camera footage from the N25 between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on the day of the crash.
