Mayo Hairdresser Wins €255,000 in EuroMillions Raffle Shock

BREAKING: A hairdresser from Castlebar, Mayo, is celebrating a life-changing win after claiming a staggering €255,000 in the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle. Patrick Monahan, a beloved figure in the community with over 40 years of experience, officially collected his cheque after winning the raffle held on May 30.
The winning ticket was purchased on a whim at Duffy’s Costcutter on Turlough Road, just minutes before the raffle’s cut-off. In a twist of fate, Patrick bought two Quick Pick tickets—one for himself and one for a close friend who was waiting in the car. After returning to the vehicle, he asked his friend to choose between the two tickets: “Left hand or right?” His friend picked the right, leaving Patrick with the left-hand ticket—the lucky winner.
“I’m absolutely thrilled,” Patrick exclaimed, still coming to terms with his surprise. “It’s an incredible amount of money, especially since I thought I’d won €5,000, not an extra €250,000!”
The hairdresser plans to celebrate this momentous occasion with the very friend who accompanied him that day. “We’ve shared plenty of laughs over the years, and this is definitely one we’ll never forget. I couldn’t celebrate without him!”
This victory comes at an exciting time for lottery enthusiasts, as the Lotto Jackpot this Saturday night is estimated at €2 million. Tickets are available for purchase in stores, through the National Lottery app, or at lottery.ie before the cut-off at 7:45 PM.
Stay tuned for more updates on this remarkable win and the upcoming Lotto draw!
