Merlin College Student and Connemara Volunteers Win Garda Awards
UPDATE: In a remarkable achievement, Jack Sweeney, a student at Merlin College, and the Connemara Youth Volunteer group have been honored with prestigious awards at the Garda National Youth Awards. The event, held on October 14, 2023, recognizes outstanding young individuals aged 13-21 who have made significant contributions to their communities.
Jack, a member of the Traveller Community, won an individual award for his exceptional accomplishments in football, representing both Galway United and Ireland at the underage level. The Connemara Youth Inter-generational Volunteers received a group award for their impactful project at Clifden Day Care Hospital.
