Michael Murphy, 30, Passes Away; Funeral Details Revealed

BREAKING: The community of Stranorlar is mourning the loss of Michael Murphy, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the Donegal Hospice in Letterkenny. The beloved husband, father, and grandfather leaves behind a grieving family and friends who will remember him fondly.

Michael Murphy, aged 30 and a resident of 30 Woodlawn, Stranorlar, was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret. He is survived by his loving wife, Angela, and their children: Mary (Brian), Michael (Marie), Anthony, Eric (Cindy), and Fiona (Paddy). He was also a devoted grandfather to Kellymarie, Taralouise, Conor, Matthew, Chanice, and Adam, and a great-grandfather to Saoirse.

Michael’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends. He is deeply regretted by his siblings, including Margaret, Nora, Liam, Annie, Sean, Carmel, Brendan, Bernadette, and the late Gerry, Pat, and Eunan.

The funeral arrangements have been confirmed. Michael’s remains will be reposing at Mc Cool’s Funeral Home in Ballybofey on September 28 and September 29 from 4 PM, concluding with the Rosary each night at 9 PM. The funeral will leave the home on September 30 at 10:30 AM for a Requiem Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar.

Following the Mass, Michael will be interred at Drumboe Cemetery. For those unable to attend, the Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam at churchservices.tv/stranorlar.
