Minister Expresses Concern Over Missing Child Amid Ongoing Investigation

Children’s Minister Norma Foley has expressed her deep concern regarding the case of a missing child, who is feared dead following a police investigation that was initiated after a serious allegation. The child, a boy who has been missing for several years, would be approximately eight years old if alive today. This development comes as detectives from Garda in north County Dublin sealed off a house over the weekend, acting on information provided by a woman who claims her ex-partner killed the child.
According to reports from the Irish Mirror, the woman made these allegations during an interview with officers from Swords Station on Sunday. Sources indicate that the Gardaí are treating her statements as credible, leading to an urgent investigation. The claims were brought to light after officials from Tusla – Child and Family Agency contacted the Gardaí regarding the missing child.
Minister Foley has been briefed on the situation and has communicated directly with the chief executive of Tusla. In a statement, she emphasized the importance of the child’s welfare and urged anyone with information to assist the Gardaí in their investigation.
“I am deeply concerned about this missing child,” Minister Foley stated. “Uppermost in my thoughts is the welfare of this child. I have asked Tusla to keep me fully informed of developments in this case.” She also appealed for public cooperation, asking anyone with relevant information to reach out to the authorities.
The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover the circumstances surrounding the child’s disappearance. As the case develops, the Minister and Gardaí remain focused on ensuring that all leads are followed to determine the fate of this missing boy.
