NFL Week 5: Vikings vs. Browns Kick Off London Series Sunday

UPDATE: The NFL kicks off Week 5 with an exciting matchup as the Minnesota Vikings take on the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London at 2:30 PM (local time) on October 8, 2023. This marks the beginning of three consecutive weeks featuring international games in the UK, heightening the stakes for fans and players alike.
The Vikings, fresh off their historic appearance in the first regular-season game in Ireland, are set to make NFL history as the first team to play consecutive international games in different cities. Following this clash, the Denver Broncos will face the New York Jets in London next week, followed by the Los Angeles Rams against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in Week 7.
With only two undefeated teams remaining, the Philadelphia Eagles (4-0) and Buffalo Bills (4-0) are looking to extend their winning streaks this week. The Eagles can achieve a remarkable feat by becoming the first team to start 5-0 three times within a four-year span since the Indianapolis Colts (2006-07, 2009). Head coach Nick Sirianni aims to join a rare club, becoming the second coach ever to start 5-0 in three of his first five seasons, following Paul Brown.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts is rewriting the record books as the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for five touchdown passes, rush for four touchdowns, and not throw an interception in his team’s first four games of the season. Meanwhile, Denver’s Bo Nix showcased his skills with three touchdowns in a Week 4 victory against Cincinnati. Nix is one of only three quarterbacks, alongside Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, to achieve at least 35 touchdown passes and five rushing touchdowns since the start of the 2024 season.
Historically, the Bills have started a season with five consecutive wins only three times before: in 1964, 1980, and 1991. They are currently on a remarkable streak, winning 14 consecutive home regular-season games while scoring at least 24 points in each contest since Week 11 of the 2023 season.
In an impressive display, Patrick Mahomes reached 250 career touchdown passes in just 116 games, breaking the record for the fastest player to achieve this milestone, surpassing Aaron Rodgers who accomplished it in 121 games. Mahomes also holds the record for the second-most games with three or more touchdowns in the first nine seasons of a career, trailing only Dan Marino.
As both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks commemorate their 50th anniversaries this season, they will don throwback uniforms for their Sunday matchup. Baker Mayfield, now with the Buccaneers, leads the NFL with 77 touchdown passes since joining the team in 2023, while rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka leads all rookies with 282 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions this season.
Fans are eager to see how these key matchups unfold in Week 5, with implications for playoff positioning already taking shape. Stay tuned for live updates and highlights from today’s games that promise to deliver excitement and drama on the field.
