Nine Galway Students Compete at WorldSkills Ireland 2023

UPDATE: Nine talented students and apprentices from Galway are currently competing at WorldSkills Ireland 2023, taking place at the RDS in Dublin. This prestigious event, which opened yesterday and runs until Friday, October 13, is expected to attract over 30,000 students and representatives from 300 schools nationwide.
Among the competitors, Rokas Brezinskas from Headford, Pablo Fernández Parra from Salthill, and Rinat Heffernan from Ballybane are showcasing their skills in Digital Infrastructure for Sustainability. Meanwhile, Hannah Ogundeko from Ballybane and Rory Mahony from Loughrea will battle it out in Restaurant Service.
Other notable competitors include Kalem Redmond from Headford, who is competing in Automobile Technology, and Enda Arcos from Gort, who is showcasing his talents in Cabinet Making. Rian Kearney from Ardrahan is taking on challenges in Electrical Installation, while Caelum Buckley from Bohermore is competing in Sheetmetal Work.
This event is a critical opportunity for these aspiring professionals to demonstrate their skills on a national platform. The live competitions not only highlight the expertise of the participants but also the importance of vocational training in today’s job market.
