North West Hospice Launches Urgent Podcast on Life and Death

URGENT UPDATE: North West Hospice Charity has just launched an impactful new podcast titled The Journey Together, aimed at addressing the crucial themes of life, death, and palliative care. The 13-part series, which debuted today to coincide with Palliative Care Week (September 7–13, 2025), promises to provide listeners with honest conversations surrounding some of life’s most challenging moments.
Hosted by life coach Tara Rafter, each episode integrates personal stories, expert insights, and actionable advice to guide individuals through the complexities of serious illness. Tara appears in a special episode dedicated to self-care, reflecting on her own emotional journey while facing terminal conditions.
This groundbreaking series features contributions from a wide array of voices within the community, including hospice staff, chaplains, social workers, and legal advisors. Notable guests include neuroscientist Dr. Brian Pennie, who discusses resilience, solicitor Jacqueline Dunne, who provides insights on wills and probate, and funeral director David McGowan, who offers guidance on funeral planning. The podcast also shares powerful stories from families who have benefitted from the compassionate care offered by the hospice.
“This podcast is about so much more than dying,” stated Olive Mc Tague, Charity Manager at North West Hospice Charity. “It’s about living well, making informed choices, and planning ahead. This year’s theme, Living for Today, Planning for Tomorrow, emphasizes that these conversations matter to everyone.”
The initial three episodes are available now, with new episodes set to be released weekly. The Journey Together can be accessed on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and at northwesthospice.ie/podcast.
