Patrick Kielty Returns to Late Late Show, Thanks Supporters

Emotional moments defined the return of Patrick Kielty to the Late Late Show as he expressed gratitude toward fans following his separation from Cat Deeley. This appearance marked his first since the couple announced their split in July 2023 after 12 years of marriage. The announcement shocked fans, primarily due to the couple’s long-standing relationship and their two children, Milo, aged nine, and James, aged seven.
Kielty opened the show by acknowledging the overwhelming support he received during this challenging period. “Honestly, it is so nice to be back with you, especially after this summer where I have genuinely been blown away by all the love and support that has been sent my way,” he remarked. His emotional tribute to his family resonated deeply with viewers, highlighting the strong connection he feels with his audience.
In a heartfelt statement, Kielty added, “One of the greatest joys of hosting this show is that you are never alone. To all of you that have been so kind to me and my family these past few months, I want to say a huge go raibh mile maith agat.” This expression of gratitude emphasized the importance of community in healing and resilience.
The couple’s separation was confirmed through a joint statement that stated, “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.” They expressed their commitment to co-parenting their children and requested privacy during this time. The couple had married in an intimate ceremony in Rome in 2012, after initially meeting in 2003 while co-presenting the reality talent show, The Fame Academy.
Kielty previously shared a romantic story about the moment he and Deeley began dating. On a birthday occasion when Deeley was in Beverly Hills and he was in Dundrum, County Down, he received a prompt that led to a memorable gesture. “I texted her happy birthday from a little Irish pub. It was around two o’clock in the morning, approaching closing time,” he recounted on Loose Women. His spontaneous decision to fly to Los Angeles resulted in a charming reunion that marked the beginning of their romantic relationship.
Viewers of the Late Late Show were met with a mix of nostalgia and warmth as Kielty returned to his hosting duties. His ability to connect with the audience, even during personal difficulties, showcases his resilience and dedication to his craft. As he welcomed viewers with his signature phrase, “welcome to the Late Late Show,” there was a sense of continuity and comfort that resonated in the studio.
Kielty’s journey through this personal chapter, while navigating the demands of television, reflects the human experience of love, loss, and the importance of connection. As fans continue to support him through this transition, Kielty’s heartfelt acknowledgment serves as a reminder of the power of community and empathy in difficult times.
