Priscilla Presley Opens Up About Elvis and Loss on Late Late Show

UPDATE: Priscilla Presley delivered an emotional and candid interview on the Late Late Show Country special this weekend, revealing intimate details about her life with Elvis Presley and the profound impact of her daughter Lisa Marie’s sudden death in 2023.
In a conversation with host Patrick Kielty, Priscilla described Elvis as “a country boy at heart,” emphasizing the challenges he faced upon rising to global superstardom. Reflecting on their early days together, she revealed that they met when she was just 14 years old while living in Germany. Their relationship, complicated by a 10-year age gap, drew scrutiny from her parents. “He didn’t know anyone there; we just built a connection. Love was in the air,” she said.
Living at Graceland posed its own set of challenges. “There were girls everywhere… it was like the movie Girls, Girls, Girls,” Priscilla recalled with a laugh, admitting that the pressures of fame made it difficult for her to establish her own identity. Dance classes became her refuge, allowing her to carve out a space outside the confines of Elvis’s world.
Priscilla poignantly reflected on their enduring bond, stating, “Even after our divorce in 1973, the bond never faded. I loved him as much the day I left as I did when I first met him. But I had to find myself.” She remained close to Elvis until his tragic death, sharing her fears as his health deteriorated and his reliance on prescription pills grew.
The conversation shifted to her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, whose unexpected passing left a deep void in Priscilla’s life. She recounted their final night together at the Golden Globes, revealing that she sensed something was amiss. “Little did I know that would be the last time I’d see her,” Priscilla said softly, her voice filled with emotion.
Despite the pain of loss, Priscilla expressed a renewed sense of strength and independence. “I feel in charge of myself now, that gives me strength,” she stated, highlighting her resilience in the face of adversity.
This heartfelt interview not only sheds light on Priscilla’s life with Elvis but also resonates deeply with anyone who has experienced loss, making it a must-watch segment for fans and followers alike.
As the world continues to celebrate Elvis’s legacy, Priscilla’s reflections offer a unique and personal perspective, reaffirming her enduring connection to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and her commitment to honoring her daughter’s memory.
Stay tuned for further updates as Priscilla shares her journey of healing and self-discovery.
