TG4 Secures Four-Year URC Broadcasting Deal for Irish Fans

BREAKING NEWS: TG4 has just secured a significant four-year broadcasting deal for the United Rugby Championship (URC), ensuring Irish rugby fans can watch 50% of the matches live each season. This urgent announcement comes as TG4 continues its commitment to free-to-air sports coverage, with the contract lasting until at least 2029.
The agreement means that, starting from the upcoming season, TG4 will exclusively show half of all URC fixtures, while the remaining games will be available on Premier Sports. Notably, RTÉ́ will not participate in the broadcast of the URC, marking a major shift in rugby coverage in Ireland.
This development is crucial for supporters across the nation, especially those without access to subscription-based services. With the new URC season set to kick off, fans will have access to top-tier rugby action featuring beloved teams like Leinster, Munster, Connacht, and Ulster.
In the coming days, TG4 will reveal the full schedule of matches for the 2025/26 season, building anticipation for thrilling clashes and fierce rivalries. This deal not only enhances TG4’s legacy of supporting Irish sport but also guarantees that rugby enthusiasts can enjoy live action without any barriers.
As the excitement builds for the new season, fans can expect dramatic moments and high-stakes competition, all broadcast live on TG4. This ensures that the heart of rugby remains accessible to all, fostering community spirit and engagement among supporters.
Stay tuned for more updates as TG4 prepares to unveil its detailed match schedule. This is a win for rugby fans everywhere, promising an exhilarating journey through the next four years of the URC!
