Three Arrested, €622,000 Seized in Major Dublin Crime Bust
UPDATE: In a dramatic bust in Dublin, authorities have arrested three men and seized a staggering €622,000 in cash. This operation, part of the ongoing crackdown on organized crime under Operation Tara, unfolded on Friday as personnel from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau executed searches at two business locations in the city center and North Dublin.
The arrested individuals include one man in his 30s and two in their 40s. They are currently being detained under the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Garda stations throughout Dublin. This significant seizure underscores the ongoing efforts to combat financial crimes linked to drug trafficking.
Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis, who oversees Organized and Serious Crime, commented on the operation, stating,
“This significant seizure of cash is further evidence of our ongoing collaboration with international partners and targeting of the facilitators and enablers who launder the vast sums of cash generated from casual drug use.”
The Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are still underway, emphasizing the importance of this operation in the broader fight against organized crime. In 2025 alone, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau has seized over €3 million in cash, demonstrating a relentless commitment to dismantling high-risk criminal networks that threaten community safety.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as they continue their efforts to disrupt organized crime in Dublin. Stay informed for more updates as this story develops.
