Tirlán Announces Urgent July Milk Price for Kilkenny Farmers

UPDATE: Tirlán has just announced the milk price for July, paying suppliers in Kilkenny a total of 48.58 cent per litre (cpl) for creamery milk at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein. This development comes as farmers prepare for the busy season, with the actual average price paid expected to reach 54.65 cpl, reflecting the quality of milk delivered.
Tirlán Chairperson John Murphy stated, “Our farm gate price required some adjustment this month to move closer to market returns.” The announcement highlights the cooperative’s commitment to aligning prices with the current market conditions, especially during the quiet holiday period when prices are generally stable.
Farmers are urged to take note of this change as it directly impacts their earnings. The milk price will be adjusted to account for the specific constituents of milk delivered, ensuring fair compensation for each supplier. This adjustment is crucial as the market gears up for a resurgence in seasonal buying activity.
Significant developments in international trade, particularly concerning EU-US tariffs, are expected to provide clarity for buyers. Murphy emphasized that this could influence future pricing strategies and enhance the cooperative’s ability to deliver value to its members.
In addition to the July price announcement, Tirlán continues to focus on delivering value through additional distributions. Farmers can expect ongoing support as the cooperative emphasizes sustainability and profitability in an ever-changing market landscape.
Stay tuned for updates on how these developments will affect Kilkenny farmers and the broader dairy market. As the situation evolves, Tirlán remains dedicated to supporting its members and adapting to market fluctuations.
