UPDATE: The top five sea swimming hotspots in Ireland have just been unveiled, with stunning beaches in Galway, Kerry, Cork, and Dublin taking the spotlight! According to data from the Lagoon Activity Centre, which analyzed Google Trends from 2020 to 2025, these beaches are calling for swimmers as Met Éireann forecasts continued high temperatures this weekend.

Leading the list is Blackrock Beach in Salthill, Co Galway, renowned for its iconic diving tower and Blue Flag status. Following closely is Banna Strand in Co Kerry, a breathtaking seven-mile stretch of sand, also boasting a Blue Flag. This beach is perfect for taking in the picturesque scenery while enjoying a refreshing swim.

In third and fourth place, The Forty Foot and Vico Baths in Dublin have become favorites not just for their stunning views but also as celebrity hotspots. Stars like Christina Hendricks and Giancarlo Esposito have been spotted at The Forty Foot, while Harry Styles and Matt Damon have frequented Vico Baths.

Rounding out the top five is Myrtleville Beach in Cork, praised for its convenient location near the city center and easy access for beachgoers. The Gloss highlights this beach as a must-visit for locals and tourists alike.

Paul Melody from the Lagoon Activity Centre emphasizes the importance of group swimming for safety.

“They say there’s safety in numbers, and I would apply that to sea swimming. Clubs are great not only for the community element and health benefits, but for safety,”

he stated, urging swimmers to enjoy the water together.

With temperatures expected to reach between 19 to 25 degrees Celsius this Sunday, August 17, 2025, and the forecast promising warm and humid conditions, now is the time to hit the beaches. Met Éireann has predicted dry weather with good spells of sunshine, making it an ideal day for a swim.

Don’t miss out on these incredible swimming spots as you plan your weekend! Dive into the refreshing waters of Ireland’s top beaches and enjoy the summer sun while it lasts.
