Tragic Incident: Infant Dies After Road Accident in Dublin
URGENT UPDATE: A devastating road traffic incident has claimed the life of an infant in south Dublin earlier today. The tragedy unfolded outside a residence in Rathmintin, Jobstown at approximately 2:00 PM on October 7, 2025.
Emergency services rushed to the scene following the accident, where the male infant was quickly transported to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The heartbreaking news has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving residents in mourning.
Authorities confirm that a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to provide support to the grieving family during this incredibly difficult time. In addition, Forensic Collision Investigators have conducted a technical examination of the site to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
A spokesperson for the Garda stated, “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic incident outside a residence in Rathmintin, Jobstown. A male infant was transferred from the scene to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.”
