Two Dead, Two Seriously Injured in Early Morning Meath Crash
UPDATE: A tragic crash in Gormanstown, Co. Meath has left two men dead and two others seriously injured early this morning. The incident, involving a lorry, a bus, and a car, unfolded on the R132 at approximately 6:30 AM, prompting immediate response from Gardaí and emergency services.
The male driver of the lorry, aged in his 40s, and the male driver of the bus, aged in his 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene. A female driver of the car, aged in her 40s, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Additionally, a female passenger in the car, aged in her teens, was initially taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital before being transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for further care.
A number of others were also taken to hospitals with injuries that are currently believed to be non-life-threatening. The R132 remains closed as forensic investigators conduct a technical examination of the site, with local diversions in place to manage traffic.
Gardaí are actively appealing for witnesses to this devastating collision. Anyone who may have been traveling on the R132 between 5:45 AM and 6:45 AM this morning and possesses dash-cam footage is urged to share it with investigating authorities.
