Urgent Alert: CCPC Warns of Electrocution Risk from Circulating Pumps
URGENT UPDATE: The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has just issued a critical safety warning regarding 13 brands of circulating pumps installed in homes across Ireland. This alert comes in the wake of an earlier warning related to Tucson pumps, which have been identified as potentially posing a severe risk of electrocution to tradespeople.
In a statement released today, the CCPC confirmed that additional circulating pumps may exhibit similar electrical coupling as the affected Tucson models, raising significant safety concerns. The CCPC is actively notifying traders and tradespeople about this potential danger to prevent any harm.
The specific models now under scrutiny include:
– AquaPro, Model: RS 25/6 EAA
– Katsu Tools, Model: Star 25
– Embrass Peerless, Model: Eclipse CFA-25-50
– THS Thermostyle, Model: THS RS25/6 EAQ
– Trident, Model: STAR 25/6EA
– Boiler M8, Model: Boiler M8 RS25/6 EAZ
– Suntask, Model: Star A PUM-STAR15/6A

– Avansa, Model: Avansa 32/6/180E
– Lowara, Models: Ecocirc and Ecocirc+
– Intertrade, Model: INTERTRADE 6 metre head circulation pump (Type R S25/6EAQ)
The CCPC has reached out to the manufacturers of these pumps to address the reports and ensure immediate action is taken. As a precaution, the commission advises tradespeople to exercise extreme caution when working with heating systems utilizing these circulating pumps.
Consumers are urged to refrain from taking any action at this stage, as investigations are currently underway to determine whether these products meet necessary safety standards. The CCPC confirmed that further information will be provided once assessments are completed.
This alert underscores the urgent need for heightened awareness among both tradespeople and consumers regarding the potential dangers associated with these products. The CCPC emphasizes that any company aware of a safety risk with its product is legally obligated to act swiftly to mitigate potential harm.
