The notice, effective immediately, affects areas served by the Mooncoin Regional Public Water Supply Scheme, including Kilmacow, Mooncoin, Mullinavat, Carrigeen, Newrath, and surrounding regions.

Authorities, including Uisce Éireann, have taken swift action following consultations with the Health Service Executive (HSE). The detection of giardia in the water supply has raised serious health concerns, prompting the precautionary measure to protect public health.
