Urgent: Free E-Waste Recycling Events Launch in Galway This Week
UPDATE: Free e-waste and battery recycling events are set to begin in Galway, with locations in Headford, Inverin, and Clarinbridge this week. Hosted by WEEE Ireland and the Galway County Council, these events will provide residents an opportunity to dispose of electronic waste responsibly.
The first event kicks off tomorrow, October 3, 2023, at Headford Mart from 10 AM to 4 PM. Residents can bring any devices with a plug, battery, or cable for recycling. This includes everything from old washing machines and TVs to electric fence batteries, toasters, and mobile phones.
Following the Headford event, a second recycling day will occur at CLG Mícheál Breathnach pitch in Indreabhán on Thursday, October 5, 2023, also from 10 AM to 4 PM. The final event of the week is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2023, in the car park of Paddy Burke’s Pub, again from 10 AM to 4 PM.
This initiative aims to promote sustainable practices within the community, allowing residents to declutter their homes while contributing to environmental conservation. Items accepted include electronic tools, toys, IT equipment, cables, and even watches.
Residents are encouraged to participate, as this is a fantastic opportunity to recycle unwanted e-waste at no cost. The events are designed not only to help individuals dispose of their outdated electronics but to raise awareness about the importance of proper e-waste disposal.
Don’t miss your chance to take part in these vital recycling events! Share this information with friends and family to ensure everyone gets the chance to contribute to a greener future.
