Urgent: Luas Red Line Resumes After Major Delays, Tickets Valid on Bus
URGENT UPDATE: Major delays have just been reported on the Luas Red Line following an incident earlier today. At approximately 5:40 PM, services were halted between Blackhorse and Heuston due to a disruption at St James’s. Commuters are advised to expect significant delays.
By 6:20 PM, a spokesperson for Luas confirmed that services have resumed, but delays are still in effect. In an effort to assist affected passengers, Luas tickets will be valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of this disruption, allowing for alternative travel options.
“Please be advised that Red Line services are currently operating with delays following an earlier incident at St James’s,” the spokesperson announced on social media. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and encourage all customers to allow additional time for travel as we regulate the service.”
This situation is developing, and passengers should stay updated on the status of their journeys. Travelers planning to use the Red Line should prepare for longer travel times and consider using Dublin Bus as an alternative.
As the evening rush hour continues, commuters are feeling the impact of these delays. Authorities are working to stabilize the service, and further updates are expected shortly.
Stay tuned for the latest developments regarding this incident, and remember to share this news to keep others informed.
