Urgent Recall: Penneys Baby Products and €3.49 Snack Pulled Now
UPDATE: Immediate warnings have been issued to shoppers as two baby products sold at Penneys and a popular snack priced at €3.49 are being recalled due to serious safety concerns. The recalls, announced this week, affect hundreds of consumers across Ireland.
On Tuesday, Penneys confirmed the recall of two types of soother clips: the 2pk Baby Bear Soother Clip and the 2pk Balloon Soother Clip. Authorities reported that these items pose a potential choking hazard. A total of 573 customers are believed to have purchased the affected clips, which were available from March to September 2025. Specifically, 114 Baby Bear clips and 459 Balloon clips are involved in this urgent recall.
Penneys revealed that these clips do not meet necessary safety standards. Customers who have purchased these items are advised to stop using them immediately and keep them out of reach of children. The retailer assures that a full refund will be offered without the need for proof of purchase at any Penneys store.
In a related issue, on Thursday, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued a recall for specific batches of Booja-Booja Chocolate Wonders Fudgie Brownies due to concerns of potential mould growth and spoilage. Shoppers are warned not to consume these brownies, which are sold in multiple stores, including Holland and Barrett.
The FSAI stated, “The below batches of Booja-Booja Chocolate Wonders Fudgie Brownie Organic are being recalled due to possible mould growth and spoilage.” Consumers are urged to check their purchases and discard any affected batches immediately.
Retailers are instructed to remove the implicated products from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale to inform shoppers. Wholesalers and distributors are also asked to contact affected customers to ensure that the recall process is thoroughly communicated.
These safety recalls highlight the importance of consumer vigilance. Shoppers are reminded to stay informed about product recalls and safety alerts to protect their families.
