UPDATE: Major road closures are set to impact traffic on the M17 and M18 starting tomorrow, October 6, with disruptions expected for several weeks. Authorities have confirmed these closures will take place overnight, causing significant delays for commuters and travelers.

From 9 PM to 6 AM on October 6 and October 7, the M18 Southbound will be closed between Junction 18 Rathmorrissey and Junction 17 Kiltiernan. A diversion will be implemented from Junction 18 to Junction 17, urging drivers to plan accordingly.

The following week, on October 8 and October 9, the M18 Southbound will again see closures, this time between Junction 17 Kiltiernan and Junction 16 Gort, during the same hours of 9 PM to 6 AM. A diversion will be in place from Junction 17 to Junction 16.

These roadworks are crucial for improving infrastructure but will create challenges for those traveling during these hours. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and anticipate longer travel times.
