Urgent Road Closures Start Tomorrow in Loughrea Area

UPDATE: Major roadworks are set to disrupt traffic in the Loughrea area starting tomorrow morning. A Stop/Go system and temporary road closures will impact key routes, making travel challenging for locals and commuters alike.
Beginning on July 17, 2023, the R349 at Tallyho Cross will be affected on both Monday and Tuesday. Following that, the R353 at Bunnaglas will undergo similar disruptions on Wednesday and Thursday. Finally, roadworks will conclude with closures at the junction on the L4221 at Cartron on Friday. Each day, the works are scheduled to take place from 7 AM to 7 PM, significantly impacting daily commutes.
Residents are urged to plan ahead as these essential roadworks are designed to improve the infrastructure in the area. With the increased traffic flow during peak hours, frustration is likely to rise among drivers. Local authorities emphasize the importance of these updates to ensure safety and efficiency on Loughrea’s roads.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and allow extra time for travel. Local news outlet Galway Bay FM and the Connacht Tribune report that road signage will be in place to guide drivers through the affected areas.
Stay tuned for further updates on the progress of these roadworks and any potential changes to the schedule. Your patience and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated. Share this news with others to keep the community informed about these critical developments.
