Urgent Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Limerick, Kerry, Cork

URGENT UPDATE: A yellow thunderstorm warning has just been issued by Met Éireann for the counties of Limerick, Kerry, and Cork, effective tomorrow from 9 AM until 6 PM. Residents are urged to prepare as severe weather conditions could lead to lightning damage, potential power outages, localized flooding, and hazardous travel.
The forecaster warns that while many areas will experience dry conditions with sunny spells in the morning, clouds will rapidly build over much of Munster, south Leinster, and south Connacht. Showers are expected to develop, becoming heavy at times with thunderstorms likely throughout the day.
With temperatures projected to range from 19 to 24 degrees Celsius, it’s crucial for those in the affected counties to stay informed. The combination of heat and storms increases the risk of significant weather-related disruptions.
Officials recommend that residents secure outdoor items and avoid unnecessary travel during the warning period. The potential for localized flooding and power outages could pose risks to safety, making preparedness essential.
As this weather event unfolds, stay tuned for updates from Met Éireann and local authorities. Monitor weather reports closely and follow any guidance from officials to ensure your safety and that of your loved ones.
