Urgent Update: Do Not Consume Notice Lifted for Tully Water Supply
BREAKING: The Do Not Consume Notice affecting the Tully/Tullycross Public Water Supply in Connemara has been officially lifted, allowing approximately 400 customers to resume normal water use. This urgent update was confirmed by Uisce Éireann following consultations with the Health Service Executive.
The notice, which was issued in July 2023, was a precautionary measure after tests revealed elevated levels of manganese in the water supply. For four long months, residents have faced restrictions affecting their daily lives, with many relying on bottled water for drinking and cooking.
Now, as of today, residents are celebrating the lifting of the notice, marking a significant step toward normalcy. Officials have assured the public that the water supply meets safety standards and is now safe for consumption.
Uisce Éireann expressed gratitude for the community’s patience during this challenging period. “We understand the inconvenience this situation has caused,” a spokesperson stated. “Ensuring safe, clean drinking water is our top priority, and we are committed to transparency and communication moving forward.”
Customers are encouraged to monitor ongoing updates and to report any water quality issues they may experience. With this notice lifted, the community can finally return to their daily routines without the worry of contaminated water.
