Urgent Update: Galway Teen Samantha Gannon Dies After Crash

UPDATE: A tragic road traffic collision in Galway has claimed the life of 19-year-old Samantha Gannon. The young driver succumbed to her injuries at University Hospital Galway following a devastating two-vehicle crash on Ballygaddy Road at approximately 6:05 PM on July 13.
Devastated friends and family are expressing heartfelt tributes, describing Samantha as “full of life” and “with a big heart.” One close friend shared, “We are deeply devastated and heartbroken. Samantha, you were full of life, and we are all going to miss you so much. Hope you get the best bed in heaven.”
In the collision, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s, the occupants of the second vehicle, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were also transported to University Hospital Galway.
Social media is flooded with messages of love and remembrance. One school friend reflected, “A mortal sin had her whole life ahead of her, only 19. Rest in peace, Samantha Gannon, may you get the best bed in heaven forever 19.” Another wrote, “Awful news, so so sad. Heartbreaking for her family.”
Authorities are urgently seeking witnesses to the crash. A Garda spokesperson stated, “Any persons who were in the Ballygaddy Road area between 5:50 PM and 6:15 PM and who may have witnessed the incident should contact investigating Gardaí.”
