Urgent Update: Man Extradited for Burglary Faces Court Today

UPDATE: A 24-year-old man has been extradited from the UK and is now facing serious charges at a special sitting of Killarney District Court. Jimmy Connors is charged with burglary, possession of a “burglary kit,” and multiple driving offenses after allegedly attempting to flee the scene of a crime.

This urgent development comes as authorities confirm that Connors is linked to a burglary incident that took place on January 21, 2022, at a private residence in Bandon, Co Cork. He is accused of possessing a high-powered 3.2 litre Audi A3, featuring false registration plates, along with burglary tools including a crowbar, screwdriver, disinfectant spray, face-covering, and gloves.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Connors was remanded in custody without a bail application. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 4, 2025, at Bandon District Court. Legal representation was provided by solicitor Brendan Ahern.

Detective Garda Trevor Moore of Templemore Garda Station reported that Connors was apprehended at Dublin Airport after failing to appear in court previously, which led to the issuance of bench warrants. He was found sitting in the driver’s seat of the Audi, which was at the scene of the burglary, attempting to escape in a dangerous manner.

According to allegations, Connors was not alone; three associates were reportedly involved in the burglary at the time, with five individuals, including Connors and a juvenile relative, arrested on that night.
