UPDATE: Met Eireann has just confirmed that Ireland will experience below-average rainfall over the coming days, with specific regions identified as the driest. This urgent weather update comes as mixed weather conditions are forecasted to sweep across the country starting today, July 24.

Today will begin largely dry with isolated showers, but rain is expected to develop in the evening, particularly along the western coast. A Met Eireann forecaster stated, “Any mist or fog patches will clear quickly this morning, leading to a mix of cloud and sunny spells.” Maximum temperatures are forecasted to reach between 18 to 21 degrees Celsius in light westerly winds.

Tonight, patchy rain along with areas of mist and drizzle will push eastwards across Ireland, creating a mild and humid atmosphere with minimum temperatures ranging from 13 to 16 degrees.

Looking ahead to Friday, July 25, expect a generally cloudy start with patchy rain and drizzle. However, by the afternoon, the clouds will start to break up, allowing sunny spells to develop. It will be a mostly dry evening with temperatures climbing to around 17 to 21 degrees.

As the weekend approaches, Saturday, July 26, promises a blend of sunshine and passing showers, especially in the west early in the day. Maximum temperatures are projected to be between 17 to 20 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds. Rainfall is expected to move into Ulster and north Connacht by Saturday night, while other regions will remain dry.

On Sunday, July 27, the weather will remain predominantly dry, but patchy rain and drizzle will still be possible. Drier conditions with sunshine and isolated showers will follow from the north, with temperatures reaching 16 to 20 degrees. It will be largely dry on Sunday night with clear spells, with minimum temperatures dropping to 9 to 12 degrees.
